Jose (Joe) Mata is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who creates a safe, collaborative space for exploration and growth. He earned his Master of Arts in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin–Baylor and his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Baylor University.
Joe works with individual adults and couples navigating a variety of life challenges. His approach centers on helping clients build awareness of themselves and their relationships—understanding how patterns, choices, and past experiences shape their present lives. With warmth and gentle honesty, he supports clients in uncovering what keeps them stuck and moving toward healing and change.
Joe has experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and people from minority backgrounds, offering an affirming space where all identities and stories are welcomed and supported. He uses an integrative style to tailor treatment to each client’s needs and uniqueness and has completed Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
